The Women’s Beginners’ Program at Simchat Shlomo will include a range of courses on Jewish texts, laws and life. Through this program, women will develop their textual reading skills (reading and comprehension), as well as their understanding of Halacha.
The Women's Beginners' Program offers 4 hours/week of skill building and introductory classes on Sundays and Wednesdays. These classes will be taught by Reb Sholom Brodt. Please call or e-mail to register.
The skill building and introductory classes will include:
- Chumash & Rashi - Skill-building class teaching students the basics of how to analyze text and Rashi’s commentary
- Halacha – Introductory class on the practical Jewish laws of daily living, particularly in regards to women’s observance
- Women's Tefillah & Siddur - Introductory class on prayer – why and how we pray, as well as a look into the prayers themselves
- Women's Mitzvot - Introductory class on Kashrut, Shabbat, and Taharat HaMishpacha
- Hebrew Tutorial - Skill-building class on Hebrew words and grammar used in Tanach
In addition, participants will be welcome to join Community Learning Program courses, which include a range of courses on Jewish mysticism, Chassidic insights on loving G-d and people, and Jewish meditation.

We have the option of a modified Ulpan. Please specify if you wish to take this, and the level of your reading and writing skills.
We want to tailor the program to the needs of the students. If you have specific requests for topics to be covered, please let us know.
