The Brodts

Reb Sholom together with his wife Judy founded Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo in 2001 with the vision of giving over Torah and Chassidut in a style and environment inspired by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach.

Reb Sholom has been working in formal and informal Jewish education for over thirty years. A master of Judaic studies teacher and storytelling, Sholom was educated at the Chabad yeshiva in Montreal, as well as other yeshivot in both Toronto and Jerusalem. A long-time student of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach zt”l, Sholom received Rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Carlebach in 1989.

Judy is a doula, massage therapist, interior designer and gives Kallah classes to brides. Having  learned with Reb Shlomo for many years, Reb Sholom and Judy know what it means to learn Torah with joy and work tirelessly to convey this to their students in Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo.

Sholom visits and teaches across North America in communities of all denominations. His tours are replete with Shabbatonim and classes in Torah, Chassidut, meditation, personal growth, and much more.  Judy tries her best never to leave Eretz Yisrael.

Reb Sholom and Judy live in Nachlaot, Jerusalem. They are always happy to open their home to guests for classes and Shabbat and holiday meals.
